POSITION: Technical Sales Representative (Calgary)
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for growing Micro-Watt's sales,
including the development of effective strategies to foster our relationships with major
customers. You have previous sales experience, preferably in the Oil and Gas sector, and
also have training in instrumentation or a comparably technical field.
Responsibilities will include:
- Proactively pursue business opportunities, primarily with our large Oil and Gas Customers
- Establishing Micro-Watt as a preferred vendor
- Fostering relationships with our customers
- Driving growth and deliver booking goals
- Working closely with the Sales Manager and other sales team members to ensure sales success
- Engaging all aspects of Micro-Watt's principals to ensure customer satisfaction and preference
- Reporting on a timely basis, and within the parameters of our CRM package, the continued progress in developing our accounts
- Complying with and participate in the continuous improvement of the Company's Health and Safety programs
- Any other related responsibilities not detailed here but that could be reasonably expected
Experience/Qualifications:
- Relevant post-secondary technical education
- A minimum of 5 years experience within the process industries of Western Canada, with an emphasis on the oil, gas and petrochemical industries.
- Experience in instrumentation sales including; flow and level measurement, SCADA, DCS, safety systems and flame and gas detection
- Successful track record of Large Account Management with Canada's major Oil and Gas companies
- Product knowledge is an asset
- Strong presentation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Well developed organizational and strategic abilities
- Strong team player
- Entrepreneurial work ethic
Micro-Watt's product focus consists of fire and gas detection, flow measurement and level transmission,
experience with these or similar types of products would be considered an asset.

POSITION: Product Service and Support Manager (Calgary)
Position Summary:
We are actively seeking a leader that will continue to advance our product service and support capabilities towards best in class!
Responsibilities will include:
- Manage all aspects of product support for both companies, including customer liaison, service, repair, support prioritisation, resources and budgets.
- Conceive and champion global and local product support strategies that provide effective support and ensure optimal customer satisfaction.
- In conjunction with the Product Manager, provide detailed application support to customers and the sales teams.
- Provide a product support perspective on product reliability, maintainability, operability and features for product line management.
- In conjunction with the Product Manager, ensure effective product training is available, on and off site, for customers, distributors and employees.
- Provide design, quotation and fabrication services for small scale integration/systems projects.
- Enhance the operation of the product support group as a profit centre through the offering of value adding services.
- Promote a team oriented culture of collaboration, empowerment and accountability that continuously strives to exceed quality and performance goals.
- Create and maintain simple metrics for department performance and internal customer satisfaction.
- Mentor and develop the product support team to achieve continuous productivity improvements.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Product Support - you have expert knowledge of "best in class" practices for supporting deployed product in a wide variety of applications both locally and internationally.
- Leadership - you are a communicator, motivator and mentor that can build collaborative relationships with customers, your team, your peers and external contractors/agencies.
- Organization - proven ability to manage multiple projects/activities simultaneously while ensuring the maintenance of relevant records and budgets and adhering to external and internal standards.
- Strategic Vision - You are able to remain focused on the big picture while coping easily with details.
- Financial Management - You understand the full impact of product support decisions on the overall success of the company, and take measures to ensure they are managed accordingly.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Relevant post secondary education - instrumentation technology/engineering preferred.
- Ten (10) years related technical experience, with at least three (3) years in a team leadership position. A mix of field and manufacturing experience would be an asset.
- The drive and ambition to succeed - you accept, but don't necessarily wait for, direction. You drive projects to successful completion and constantly seek to add value.
- A high level of integrity.
- A good understanding of Quality Management Systems and Lean Enterprise, specifically how they relate to product support.
- Working knowledge of international standards covering the certification and installation of electrical products for use in hazardous locations would be an asset.
